STAGE STORM

STAGE STORM was formed in 2006 after I started filming bands while running a Music  Events Company called Mystic Eventz.

As part of putting gigs on at King Tuts, Strawberry Fields & The Cathouse we came up with

a platform to promote Glasgow based unsigned talent to major Record labels using video as a tool to pass to contacts we had made with a few major Record Labels.

 

We called this service Video Scout and held  annual events called Summer City Live , featuring 28 of the best unsigned bands we had worked with and showcased them over two floors at The Cathouse. Bands that have since went on to success include Biffy Clyro, who we first promoted and filmed in 2007.

It was from these events I decided to take my direction into mainly filming and stopped promoting gigs.

 

With a background in playing Bass professional for a few years and playing and touring with bands including The Exploited, studying Audio Engineering at SAE plus a course in Music Business, I set up STAGE STORM fulltime in 2006.

 

The first few years seen myself work with some of my favourite bands including The Silencers, filming a film Documentary about the band and the concert for Cha Burns, The Almighty, GUN, Thunder, Retrofest Festivals with bands including Midge Ure and countless 80s /90s  bands. Footage from Retrofest seen myself get our first national TV feature with our film footage from Retrofest being requested by VH1 to be used on a show in American TV.  In the first 4 years of STAGE STORM we filmed over 400 bands.

 

We were the main film company for filming content for 96.3 Rock Radio until the station unfortunately closed.

 

Now in 2019 and in our 12th year we now have our own studio based in North Glasgow , in the very same building where I studied Music Business & Promotion.

 

We work from out 600 sq ft studios for our photography and small music video shoots. For larger shoots we have a number of great contacts and venues we use.

 

Over the years we have built up a full range of filming and lighting equipment and great contacts with venues for filming in.

Each film project is unique and we can work with all levels from small solo projects to full stage music videos.
